  20. I wrote this application to manipulate midi packets from my master keyboard to the Canvas. I didn't think to put it on the net, but it works pretty good, and, if you like, it'll work better.

  22. I tryed some other applications but they didn't do what I would. Then, in two nights I wrote the basic code. It seemed to process the packets in real time and I continued to write the code.

What the hell does Midi Eddie ? It lets you edit midi packets coming from the MIDI MANAGER Apple as you like. Launch the application. You will have some icons on the right. Drag them to the main window. Now, you can link every box with lines. Simply drag from one to the other. The left line is the module input, the right is the output. Treat the icons like the finder's: you can cut, copy, paste selections, drag, move the screen with the little map, etc. Let me write some shortcuts.

  26. Enter (double click): lets you edit the parameters.
  27. Esc: writes the map with links, not only dotted map)
  28. Arrows: move icon
  29. Cmd-Arrows: move the screen.
  30. Del: deletes what selected.
  31. Z: deletes whatever is under the mouse pointer.
  32. 1-9 (without shift) keys of Italian keyboard (don't know with others) move to the screen section.
  33. space bar: pops up a info window about the "moused" module.

  35. To use it, you must have Apple Midi manager installed. The connection with modem port in and out is automatic. The interface was designed on my duo 230 with 16 grays. I don't know how horrible will be on color macs - put the screen to 16 grays :)

  37. Two modules are essential to work: the input and the output one. Then, put between them what kind of processing you want. It will work asyncronously as fast as possible. If needed, the processing speed can be better. I'll give here a brief description of the modules.
